Production Supervisor

As a member of the Production Team reporting to the Production Manager, the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor will oversee the entire 2nd shift production operation, and help to ensure a safe, clean, efficient, and continually improving work environment while meeting our quality and delivery performance targets for our customers. The second shift supervisor has responsibility for all production operations and shift-oversight of support staff including Material Handlers, Shipping & Receiving, and Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide direction to hourly employees, communicate standards/work instructions clearly, train and hold employees accountable for assignments/requirements and work cohesively with other team members and functions to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost metrics.
Work directly with the Planner to assist with scheduling manufacturing orders to the production floor.
Understand, communicate and objectively enforce laws, polices, rules, Lean initiatives and if applicable collective bargaining agreement requirements in a professional and timely fashion.
Review, establish, maintain labor reporting, time & attendance and productivity rates for hourly employees and conduct daily informational meetings for building teamwork and maintaining communication across all shifts.
Maintaining housekeeping standards and a safe work environment while assuring tools & equipment are available and in good working condition. Observe and enforce all safety, lock-out/tag-out and energy control rules.
Work with other functions on inventory accuracy, schedule adherence, shipment information, prototypes and new product introductions, problem solving/corrective actions teams, etc.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2000 and customer specific quality programs.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma required (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred)
At least 1 year of production lead or supervisory work experience for the Supervisor position.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to assist in developing work instructions and Quality documentation.
Exposure to, and/or experience in Lean tools/concepts for a manufacturing organization.
Ability to flexible when it comes to work assignments and work hours.
A strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand functions of moderately complicated mechanical systems through observation.
Proven ability to work within a deadline-driven manufacturing environment
Qualifications:
Experience in working with vinyl, foam, plastic and leather components.
Implementation of Lean and/or advanced quality principles within a team and/or organization.
Supervisory experience in union represented environment.
Experience overseeing tool changeovers, robotic machinery, and a working knowledge of automated glue equipment.
Knowledge high-volume upholstery technique.
Strong understanding of warehousing activities and oversight.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

At least 5% travel. Employee must be able to drive moderate distance (up to eight hours) by car/van and fly in an airplane domestically and internationally.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
